The OLS Home and School Association helps to foster communication between the homes of our students and the school.  We do this by hosting meetings throughout the school year, which give parents the opportunity to communicate with the principal, teachers, and other parents.  In between general meetings, we send e-newsletters to parents and faculty to keep the lines of communication open.  Click here to read past newsletters or to join our mailing list.

Home and School also takes an active role in supporting the school by organizing several fundraisers to benefit it.  We take pride in the fact that parents continually come together to host, attend, and support these events for our school community.  Please take a look at our schedule of events below to see what’s happening at OLS and consider attending or helping out at one of them.  Active participation in the Home and School Association is essential to building a strong relationship between your home and your child’s school.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

The OLS Home & School Association raises funds to help purchase items for the school that fall outside the normal operating budget.  Through our fundraising efforts, we are able to provide SmartBoards, computers, communication software, field trip transportation, and more.  If you have questions about our fundraising efforts, please send us an e-mail at olshomeandschool@gmail.com.


2016-2017 Home and School Fundraisers

Schoola Clothing Drive:       How can clean closets help earn money for OLS? Through a clothing drive with Schoola! The Home & School Association is working with Schoola to sell your gently used name brand children’s and women’s clothing. Bring your items to the Faenger Hall lobby at any time and place them in the donation box.

Trunk or Treat:       Come join us on October 28th for a family-friendly Halloween celebration for your entire family!  Park your car on the OLS parking lot and get ready for lots of ghosts and goblins to come by for treats!  A contest will be held for best costume and best decorated vehicle.  The cost is only $5 per car and advance registration is required by October 21st.  Please contact Brandy Forrest for more information.

Breakfast with Santa:      Round up the kids and come have breakfast with Santa on December 3rd for only $5 per person (2 and under are free)!  In addition to good food, there will be lots of fun for the children.  Kids can decorate cookies and make a craft (both included in the admission price), shop at Santa’s gift shop, and get their picture taken with Santa.  Don’t forget to purchase your ticket for one of our amazing basket raffles.  We are currently taking donations for Santa’s gift shop and the basket raffle, as well as reservations for the event.  Please call Lisa Granadillo for more information.

Trivia Night:     Put your thinking caps on for a night of trivia fun!  Trivia Night is Saturday, March 18th at 7:00PM in Faenger Hall.  So grab your friends, some snacks, and get ready for an evening loaded with questions!  For any questions, or to volunteer, please call Therese Nims.

In addition to our events, we are always collecting Box Tops and Campbell’s Soup labels which the school will redeem for cash or prizes.  Please send them to school with your child.  And remember to use your Schnucks Script Community Card every time you shop at Schnucks.  By doing so, OLS receives a percentage of what you spend each month!  When shopping online, consider using smile.amazon.com and selecting OLS as your preferred charity.  For every purchase made through AmazonSmile, Amazon will donate a portion of your purchase price to our school.
